General Surgery

We define General Surgery as an area of specialty in that surgeons perform general surgery procedures for various common diseases. They are also responsible for patient care before, during and after the surgery. 

Working with multiple disciplines, general surgery diagnoses and treats many diseases, primarily the intraabdominal organs. This includes the liver, pancreas, bile ducts, spleen, appendix, small bowel, large bowel, rectum, stomach, thyroid glands and hernias.

As the most comprehensive field of medicine, general surgery encompasses practically all types of surgery.  .  These surgical procedures are usually named by the name of the organ. 

Gastrointestinal system diseases, thyroid diseases, liver problems, orthopedic problems, musculoskeletal system, surgical oncology, skin problems, stomach, abdominal pains, appendicitis, parathyroid, thyroid, endocrine, adrenal and endocrine pancreas problems, breast pains, cysts, accident injuries, big traumas and emergency conditions are included. In addition, as a part of these diseases, biopsies, laboratory tests and imaging studies are evaluated by general surgeons.
